Happy Earth Day with StencilGirl and Resketch

Happy Earth Day everyone! I'm excited to be a part of this fun blog hop with StencilGirl and Resketch and share this fun little project with you.

I love notebooks and journals and the books from Resketch are wonderful. Not only are they cute but Resketch uses recycled paper in their books which makes them even better. I decided to make my little book a quote book. I also wanted to add some art and color to it so I pulled out my StencilGirl stencils and a few other supplies..

Supplies Used

Gelatos
Cosmetic Sponge
White Gesso
Pencil

To get started I added color to the page with Gelatos. I colored a few swipes of color on my page and then blended with a cosmetic sponge. I like using the Gelatos on paper that is lighter weight.

Nest I added a stencil design on top of the color using white gesso and the Vines stencil from StencilGirl.

I wanted the notebook paper to show so I left part of that page with no color. I wrote the quote with a pencil in a quirky childlike print. I also added detail around some of the leaves with the pencil.

And that's it! A quick and easy way to create an art journal with quotes. I hope you enjoyed the project and I hope you find some time to create.
